HYC Frostbite 2017 - E.R.R.O.R. Race aka Execution Rocks Race Out & Return

NOTICE OF RACE
Huguenot Yacht Club's Frostbiting Fleet invites you to participate in its E.R.R.O.R. Race aka Execution Rocks Race Out & Return on Sunday April 2nd, 2017. Huguenot Yacht Club is the Organizing Authority for this event.
A.This race is open to Lasers, Radials, and JC9s as long as there is at least one other boat of the same kind to race against and so establish a class. Each class must provide its own crash boat on the course.)
B.Members of the Huguenot Yacht Club and Non-Members to whom an invitation has been extended who is an owner of an eligible Frostbite Program boat, or who has chartered a boat, is eligible to participate.
C.Juniors, aged 17 and under, to whom an invitation has been extended to may enter their dinghies in this race may do so. All Juniors may be required to submit a brief resume and take a proficiency test prior to participation.
D.FEES: Visiting participants pay $15 for this regatta alone. For those current participants in the HYC Frostbiting 2016/2017 Season, this race is already included in the Winter Season Entry Fee.
The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) including US Sailing Prescriptions, except as modified herein.
NOTICES TO COMPETITORS
Notices to competitors will be delivered by email in advance to the participants and posted at Huguenot Yacht Club on the day of the race.
One-Design or level divisions will be assigned to two or more of the same boat make and model. All other divisions shall be determined after all entries are received.
REGISTRATION and RESPONSIBILITY: As a condition of participating in winter dinghy racing at the Huguenot Yacht Club, each skipper and crew is required to sign a Waiver and Release of Liability in a form provided by the Frostbite Committee. Current Winter Members will already have these forms on file. Guests sailing the ERROR CUP only will be asked to submit this waiver on the race day.
Entries should be made by email and addressed to firstname.lastname@example.org by 5pm Friday March 31st. Entries received by Tuesday March 24th will receive an awesome t-shirt commemorating the event.
SCHEDULE AND LOCATION
A.A very short Skippers Meeting 11:30 at Huguenot Yacht Club, start to rig up boats 11:31 - if you are chartering a boat or need help carrying your boat onto the dock, please show up before the Skippers Meeting.
B.Dock departure time of 12:30, the race will commence promptly at 1:00 PM (1300). At the discretion of the RC, the Classes may start separately or all together.
The Starting Line will be between a staff flying a Yellow Flag on the committee boat and either G"7A" or G”9” North of Goose Island depending on the Course (see below.)
The Finish Line will be the line connecting G"7A" and RG "11" Southeast and East of Glenn Island.
A.Course will either be Clockwise or Otherwise and will be announced by the RC.
B.Clockwise Course: Using the G"9" start, Leave Davids Island, Huckleberry Island, Execution Rocks Light, and Pea Island to Starboard.
C.Otherwise Course: Using the G"7A"Leave Davids Island, Huckleberry Island, Execution Rocks Light, and Pea Island to Port.
D.All other government buoys, ruins, rocks, wrecks, may be ignored insomuch as they are not considered part of the course.
This is a one-off race and does not get scored in the Season or Overall Results.
Any additions or changes to the sailing instructions or scratch sheet will be emailed to the competitors by 0900 on the day of the race and available at the skippers meeting on the day of the race.

Lavish Prizes will be awarded (and t-shirts distributed to those who entered by the t-shirt deadline) at the Frostbiting Awards Dinner on April 29th, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each class.
